Capitol Hill Advocacy with AA Homecare

Last week I attended the AA Homecare Conference in Washington, DC as a guest of NEMED (New England Medical Equipment Dealers). I was a featured speaker during the program, and I shared my story as a woman with a disability who depends on homecare. I also talked about my work as a peer mentor at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, and the need I see for quality homecare.

After the conference, we headed up to Capitol Hill to speak to our legislaters about our concerns. We were able to meet with representatives from Senator John Kerry's office, and Congressman Stephen Lynch's office.
